Twenty-eight years ago I had a column in a now defunct newspaper in El Paso, Texas. I wrote about the things I found humorous about living and life and how silly we humans can be. I was a middle-aged woman back in the 80s, two teenagers, a husband and a dog. I am now a freshman senior citizen with no husband, two children and five grandchildren plus their spouses and four great granddaughters and a great-grandson who is supposed to make his appearance April 15th and a cat.
By the way, I said I am a freshman senior. I have decided that the term Senior Citizen is too broad. So, I figure we can divide it into classes like in high school.
- In your sixties -- Freshman Senior Some of us are still trying to pass for being middle-aged yet.
- In your seventies -- Sophomore Senior
- In your eighties -- Junior Senior
- In you nineties -- Super Senior I imagine I will be very glad to become a Super Senior, but thinking about graduation is kind of sad.
Life is still silly, funny and sometimes even bizarre. So I am ready to share my thoughts on the silly things I have observed.
I'll be back soon if anyone's listening.
